About Us

Quality football coaching for all age groups

EYFC is supported and managed by a host of community volunteer committee members and team managers. The Club's primary purpose is to provide a safe and friendly environment, whereby children can play football for fun. The Club's community spirit and fair play ethos is the sole reason it has been a continuous community success since 1975. Our FA-qualified coaches provide an effective platform to welcome and help any child into Grassroots football and beyond. The Club is very well organised and passionate about developing youth football within the Epping Forest District.

Grassroots Football is more than a group of children kicking a ball. At EYFC, we bring children together to promote friendship, socialising, sharing human values no matter their age, gender, physical ability, skin colour, religion or ethnic origin so that they too may experience playing the beautiful game. Here at EYFC we strive to ensure football is taught correctly. Our structured FA-approved sessions will ensure not only effective football is taught but essential life skills are learned that will pay dividends to any child when reaching adulthood.

All our teams are registered with the Essex County FA and Chelmsford League FA. EYFC have the Charter Standard award. The Charter Standard award is an FA award which confirms the associated football club conforms to FA best practice standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside of the Football League and Premier League. It ensures the Club is of the highest possible youth standard and therefore provides peace of mind to any parent and child.

EYFC teams play in the Chelmsford Sunday youth leagues and provide teams from under 7’s through to under 18’s. There are a number of different divisions in each age group, whereby the league officials will correctly assign a team to a division they view as being of the correct ability for. This ensures fair play and allows a level playing field for every player to fully express themselves on a football field.  For our under 6’s and under 5’s these age groups play at the clubs Academy. 'Friendlies' are often arranged by the team managers to provide excitement and experience for the younger age groups. These experiences are an essential ingredient in their development.
